Winter Peace

This picture is a revisit about a subject in my posting called Remember (Jan’08). It was a first time for me to be outside taking photos for two hours in winter. I did not notice the time I have spent outside framing the cemetery until my colleague called me. After being distracted, I felt my hands numbing because of the cold air. I guest, I did not pay attention to the pain of coldness because I was really amazed by the scene that was unfolding in front of me.

This picture came from the inspiration about the service of a group of people helping the poor in the community. The group chops wood and gives it to the people to stay warm during winter. It is a simple gesture though makes me realize the goodness that we have. It is a goodness, which when acted, it changes and propels us and other in an authentic way of living.

One of the hotest days of summer of 2007 in Prestonsburg Kentucky, USA. He is one of the parishioners who willingly help their church through maintaining the outside lot. This is my memorable first portrait that I took. I just got my Canon Rebel Xti 2 days before this depiction. When I look at this portrait, I am always reminded of the gift of work and the wonderful talents we have.

This picture conveys my idea on how a picture can have a voice. This capacity of pictures can either inspire or devasate a human being. It can either shineforth or distort truth and can show our priorities on how we give meaning to our life. Pictures that we perceive great are all small, the picture that we perceive small is the greatest.
